Project Overview
DCE delivers professional training for trades through live online events and pre-recorded courses. Their existing website was doing the job, but it was starting to show its age — both visually and behind the scenes. While the site attracted a steady stream of visitors, it wasn’t making it easy for people to find the right training or sign up, and managing courses and reporting required too much manual effort.
We were brought in to modernise the platform, improve the user experience, and introduce a learning system that could run smoothly with minimal ongoing admin.
The Challenge
DCE needed a website that worked better for everyone using it.
- For learners, the site needed to be clearer, easier to navigate, and simpler to book onto courses.
- For presenters and partners, there was a strong need for accurate reporting — including who had attended, who had completed training, and which events people had signed up for.
- For the internal team, manual processes around certification and administration were slowing things down.
The challenge was to solve all of this while keeping the platform flexible and easy for the DCE team to manage in the long term.
Our Approach
We focused on creating a platform that was simple to use, easy to manage, and built to scale.
That meant:
- Designing clear layouts that highlight training options and key information
- Streamlining the sign-up journey to remove friction
- Introducing a dedicated Learning Management System (LMS) to automate training, certification, and reporting
- Making sure the admin dashboard was intuitive, so the client could add and manage content without technical support
