SH Upholstery

SH Upholstery is a local upholstery business run my Emma and her father. They offer a variety of services including furniture building, upholstery, and their popular upholstery workshop classes which they run throughout the year.

Their existing site was beautiful and very clean looking in design, however it had been built in such a way that it was very difficult for anyone other than the developer to make amends or add content. Emma came to Clyq to re-build the site in a way that that she and her team could manage the site themselves.

Emma also wanted to add to the site’s functionality. The existing site had an online shop and booking function for the workshops, but it was a little clunky and difficult to navigate. We re-built the site to its original look and design, and made a few adjustments by using software which was specific to events like Emma’s. The system enables customers to browse upcoming workshops, book tickets, and then a succession of templated emails are sent out to the customer with information and reminders about the event, as well as a follow up email to encourage clients to review the workshop on social media.

Emma was also finding that the custom furniture page wasn’t gaining much traction and wanted to provide more inspiration for clients to enquire about the service. We built a custom furniture quotation tool which takes the customer through a step by step process where they can select various options such as the furniture material, shape, and other details while providing images to inspire the customer’s imagination.

The site was integration with Emmas Xero software and CRM (Capsule) to make the order process slick and has cut down on admin time for the team. We continue to support SH Upholstery by maintaining the site’s security and keeping software up to date, as well as adding workshops and blogs to the site allowing the team to focus on other aspects of the business.
